Description The Sustainability Advisory Council was formed in May 2008 to lead overall planning, goal-setting, coordination, reporting, and policy advise at Portland State University. The Council was formed at the request of the Provost and the V.P. of Finance & Administration during an interim period between presidents. Council members were selected with input from leaders within operations, academics, and student leadership. The primary institutional structure has since evolved into CAP-IT, the Climate Action Plan Implementation Team - a diverse body of students, staff and faculty dedicated to implementing the actions recommended in the Climate Action Plan. Subgroups of CAP-IT include Buildings, Materials (Purchasing & Waste), Travel & Commuting, Research & Education, and EcoDistrict development.
