Description North Lake College encourages a culture of environmental stewardship. Our mission across campus is to promote student success and community engagement. We believe that sustainability is smart business practice. Our sustainable development goals are a high priority and foundation at each of our four campuses; Central, North, South, and West.

North Lake College has a full-time Sustainability Coordinator in the Business Services office, working in areas of education programming, facilities operations, and community engagement. The Sustainability Coordinator chairs the Sustainable Blazers Committee, a collaborative steering team of staff and faculty with sub-committees in areas of education, leadership and practice.

North Lake College students are actively involved in student organizations like the Green Club and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Students also participate in our Service Learning in Sustainability program, a nationally accredited volunteer program that combines education, leadership and practice.
